Abstract

The subject of the following article is presentation of the research on architectural manipulations to induce specific emotions for political purposes. An excellent sample for such a survey is German New Reichschancellery performed by Albert Speer in Berlin in the years 1938 - 1939. He became Hitler’s main architect, for he understood best than others Hitler's ideas, especially the one about assigning the role to the architecture to glorify the greatness of the Third Reich even thousand years later. Additionally, the article describes the research on contemporary perception of these manipulations in order to check out their timeliness today. The survey is a part of vast research on the associations & emotions of totalitarian system architecture designed in the 1930s and 1940s.
